Pittsburgh native and veteran long-snapper Christian Kuntz will remain a member of the Steelers, the team announced Thursday.

The Steelers agreed to a new 3-year contract with Kuntz, allowing the Bridgeville native to stay with his hometown team.

"I feel like it hasn't even hit me and my family and friends," Kuntz said this week of being a member of the Steelers. "I'm playing for the Steelers. It still hasn't hit me. I don't think it ever will. It's a blessing. It's crazy."

Kuntz joined the Steelers, as a member of the team's practice squad, during the 2019 preseason before being waived by the team.

He was signed to the practice squad again in 2020 and was again released in early 2021, however, the Steelers later agreed to sign him to a reserve/futures contract.

Kuntz has appeared in 51 total games for the Steelers, over three complete seasons.

He is a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School and played collegiately at Duquesne University.

Kuntz previously spent time as a member of the Patriots, Broncos and Jaguars' organizations.
