CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — "A Soldier’s Hands," which is a local military support group, will be hosting its second “Walk to Remember our Fallen" event on the grounds of the PA Military Museum in Boalsburg.
The 5K walk will take place on the morning of May 25th, beginning at 8 a.m.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the group, which sends care packages to deployed troops.
It's also a tribute to those who have fallen in battle, and those who are left behind to mourn them.
The keynote address will be delivered by retired Sgt. Adam Hartswick -- who will share his story of the loss of fellow soldiers in war.
“They say that when you die, you have two deaths. One is when you die, and the second is when you stop saying their names. And so that’s what we really want - the community to come out and remember."
To register for the walk, you can visit the organization’s website.
You can also register the morning of the walk.
