Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Bedford County have released new details about what led to the arrest of a Bedford woman on Friday evening.
Investigators say troopers were dispatched to a residence along Narrow Lane, in Cumberland Valley Township, for a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to the affidavit, police say troopers later learned that 53-year-old Melissa Suder had been arguing with several family members and had even threatened to kill them.
Police say one of the witnesses told troopers that she had allegedly threatened to "stab all of them with a fork and then shoot them."
Troopers also noted that Suder was "visibly intoxicated" and was even holding a can of alcohol when she went to retrieve a handgun from her car, according to witnesses.
Police say prior to troopers arriving at the home, Suder had allegedly retrieved the handgun and began "chasing" one of the family members with it before firing at least three shots in the individual's direction.
Once troopers arrived on scene, police say Suder then fired at least four shots at them as well.
Troopers say no injuries were reported and Suder was later taken into custody without further incident.
She is being held at the Bedford County Jail on various charges, including four counts of attempted homicide and seven counts of attempted murder of law enforcement.
Her bail has been denied.
