CLEARFIELD -- Clearfield turned in an inspired performance last Friday, defeating Mountain League foe Penns Valley 56-49 to start out the year 2-0.

Oliver Billotte plunged in from a yard out on fourth and goal with seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to pull out the thrilling victory.

In what turned out to be one of the best shootouts the Mountain League has seen, Bison head coach Tim Janocko, in year 35 at the helm, decided to roll the dice with his offense leaving the game in their hands, and it paid off.

For their efforts, Clearfield takes home Thomas Automotive high school football team of the week honors.
